    Patriotism Made Simple

July%204%20bench%20001.JPGThis year, we will be having out of the country guests for the fourth of July. I've never given the holiday much thought other than plans to see fireworks. My in-laws have inspired me to reach new heights in patriotism, mostly because of the respect they give the holiday...and they're not from around these parts! Robert and his dad had found an old bench in our barn a couple of years ago. They repaired it and painted it brownish-red...they just used what was laying around. This year, after sitting on the porch and staring at the bench and the slowly peeling brownish-red paint, I had an idea. Thus, an art project was born. We may yet paint the rocking chair to match! My mother's rustic influence is starting to show...and my dad's talent for creativity.
