Gearing Up for Halloween at Firefly Farm
Monday, October 6, 2008 at 11:26AM
We sure did have a lot of fun this past weekend gearing up for Halloween. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. The leaves outside are starting to turn. The air is crisp. The mums reflect the colors of the season. And the decorations are spectacularly creepy! Venture on to see just the beginning of the transformation taking place at Firefly Farm!
On 60 going into Lexington, there's a nursery called Al's that is locally owned. They had a few select pumpkins from which to choose. We selected these.

Mums and pansies were the flowers of choice. We had just unloaded the car when this photo was snapped.

The mums and pansies go beautifully together in the raised beds (remember when Hubby built those?).

The boys dutifully sniffed out the new additions to the front porch.

Lots of critters find refuge at Firefly Farm, especially in the Rat Hotel!

Not to worry as Fearless Fred investigates.
